At Setpoint Solutions we specialise in Air-conditioning, our projects are anything from splits to large scale engineered HVAC solutions. We work in a variety of sectors which include commercial buildings, health care, schools and hotels. We also work for domestic clients and for architects on some amazing properties.
It’s varied and so your days can be spent in a variety of locations, what stays the same is top notch customer service, attention to detail and sticking to our processes and health and safety policies.
Initially the role involves learning all the practical skills required and if you have any previous experience with working in construction you will have an advantage here. You will be paired up with an experienced engineer and will learn from them along with the professional training at college.
The qualification is the City & Guilds 6090-50 level 3 Refrigeration, Air-conditioning and Heat Pump apprenticeship. This is a 3-year course with training provided by Channicool Training Services, Plymouth in weekly blocks each year.
Holiday: 28 days holiday inc bank holidays. Birthday extra holiday if on a working day. Additional holiday for length of service – up to 5 days
Uniforms: Company uniform, allowance for work boots and trousers
Hours: Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30pm.
Salary: National Minimum Wage + Bonus Scheme + Overtime & Travel Pay
Additional Info: We have a clear progression path for apprentices. We invest in further training during and after the initial apprenticeship course. We prioritise career progression through the stages of engineer with wage reviews.

- Experience of using hand tools
- Comfortable with using a tablet/smart phone for reporting and completing forms (training provided)
- Motivated to learn new skills
- Must have excellent time keeping
- Reliable

- Good communication skill
- No previous experience required
- Driving Licence essential
- GCSE Maths and English Grades level 4+
